Today me and Tiara stayed back after school to edit more of our film, but as we only had until 4 o'clock we couldn't do much more than upload the rest of our footage and edit a bit. When upload we watched the clips and worked out what clips we definatly did or didn't want. After the all the clips uploaded, we started to delete all the clips we knew we didn't want and had to re-watch some of the takes to decide which one would be best.
Today I think I was mainly a thinker.

Reflection
Today we continued to upload and listen and watch our cuts and start to edit what parts of our film we had. Our whole group today learnt to use Final Cut Pro more and sometimes it was a close call between two cuts and we had to really think and be open-minded to each others opinions to ensure that no one feels left out and we come out with a film that our whole group likes. Also there were cuts that we definitely couldn't use but were having fun watching them as they uploaded. Also we were a lot more efficient today because we knew a lot more of how to edit the clips and cut them.
We also found some more cuts for some night scenes that came out too dark. So unfortunately we need to see if there is a way to lighten the footage and not have to find another way to film this again.
Today we were balanced, thinkers, open-minded, inquirers and knowledgeable.

Film Reflection
Today we learnt and managed to upload our film using final cut pro. We also learnt a few other things today such as what somethings meant on the camera (R:00:00 refers to the time left to the end of the tape) and i re-learnt where to plug in the cable into the camera to connect it to the computer. While we were uploading our takes we got a sense of which takes we liked and noted them down. It was hard to tell which takes were really the best as when we were uploading it we couldn't hear the sound and it was also hard to keep track of what take it was when we initially watched it, so we will have to watch our takes again to make sure our initially chosen scenes were really the best.
What we found out today what we needed to improve on when watching our film. Things we needed to improve on were things like camera steadiness and what looked better than others. Also when watching our film again we realised that one of our shots (all the takes) were too dark on on tape and needed to re-shoot it. Looking back to both when we were filming our shots and when we were uploading them we were having a good time while working on our film.
Today we were thinkers, open-minded and communicators when we shared our ideas and thoughts about our shots and we were balanced and reflective when watching them.

After-school Filming Session: Causeway Bay
Today after school we went to go film in Causeway Bay. We decided to film our scenes in alleys around Causeway Bay, where it would have a lot of shadows and hopefully less crowded. Though despite filming in alleys, we found it difficult to film as there were still quite a lot of people, who would stop and stare at us, ruining a scene or getting in the way while filming. We had to be careful to also not get in the way of what other people were doing. We also had problems with lighting, as each scene took a long time to film with all our problems, the sun was setting. we had to switch locations for one short scene as we had location difficulty as we wanted to film at the balcony on the 13th floor of Times Square but the view was blocked lately by a wooden safety fence. So we had to just make do with what we had. A lot of time in filming today we had to improvise and get around the problems and technicalities.
So today we had to be principled, communicators, thinkers and defiantly open-minded.

Today in class, we finished our shot list and started to work on the type of music we wanted with our music director, Amelia. We were open-minded with our ideas and each other, even thinking about like what sort of sounds we wanted and how we could do it.
After school we filmed our school scenes. We were able to use a classroom and round up enough students for extras and managed to find a teacher to act as our teacher in the film (Ms. Roldan). After that we went around asking the science department if we could use a science classroom at some time to use as for a section of our HQ scenes. After much trying we were fortunate to be allowed to use a science lab that was full of displays for the open night later that day. Though to use the science lab we had to be careful, and in exchange, the science lab and even the use of a lab coat and the lab glasses and even a high tech looking microscope.
After doing the class room and science lab scenes we did the last school scene which takes place at the playground. Though unfortunately with the weather we had to film with the rain. Protecting the camera from the rain and we had to get some pretty tricky angles in this scene. Though despite this our camera man, Rachel, managed to pull this of.
We had to do quite a lot of improvisation with extras and locations, and today we were thinkers, communicators, open-minded, principled and risk-takers.
