Film Reflection
Today our group had to re-think our plot for our film, as today we realised that our original plot was too complicated for a 3-5 minute film and that we had imbalanced good and bad sides. Ms Wong helped us see the imbalance by making us draw a good, bad and half-half diagram.
So realising this we re-thought out our plot (with the help of the diagram idea) and worked out a few more details. Our idea for our plot is to have Yasmine's character (Natalie/Nightshadow) and main bad guy of the film, trying to deliver a vile of mysterious liquid to her even more mysterious employer, who in the film is known as Mr. E (which is a play on the word mystery). Though when Tiara's character (Alex/Flick) trys to catch the suspicious looking Nightshadow, Nightshadow runs/shadow travels away and drops the vile in the process. The main idea of the rest of the movie is about how Nightshadow/Natalie tries to get the vile back from, Alex/Flick and her sidekick, Jayden/Jay.
After working out the main arc of the plot, we started to type up our script on celtex. Considering how we had to re-do our plot, I think we had done a good start on out script, as we had wrote the first two scenes. Though in starting to write out script we realise there are a few location and prop problems we will have to work out.
Another thing we did was learn about how we would aproach the problem of making Tiara look like her character has superspeed and to make it look natural. We found that we would have to have anyone else in the scene look like they are running but in reality are moving super slow, manwhile Tiara will just have to run normally.
Some good thoughts on your scriptwriting process. How do you think you could have been more efficient today? What kind of IB Learner were you?
